Welcome to the Shire of Hunters’ Home!

The Shire of Hunter’s Home is the local chapter of the Society of Creative Anachronism. The SCA is an international non-profit recreational and educational group interested in the period before 1600.

We are geographically made up of the counties of Mercer, Lawrence, and Venango in Western Pennsylvania and are part of the Kingdom of AEthelmearc.

We were initially founded in 1990 as the Incipient Shire of Bellumora under the sponsorship of the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands in the Kingdom of the East in 1990. In 1992 we became a full status group as the Shire of Hunter’s Home.

Our members come together from diverse modern backgrounds to share a common interest in recreating the Middle Ages.

Through hosting and going to SCA Events our members explore and expand their knowledge and participation in tournaments, combat, fencing, archery, cooking, costuming, dance, and medieval games.

If you too have an interest in the Middle Ages, then we invite you to contact us and let us help you explore the Modern Middle Ages.
